ABOUT US

Garforth in Bloom was established in 2008 by a group of local residents with a common interest and desire to improve the look of our town for the benefit of all who live or visit. Since then the group has gone from strength to strength.

We have created many flower beds, collected litter and tidied untidy or overgrown areas. One such area we continue to work on is the land between The Miners & Gascoigne pubs.

Our number of volunteers continue to grow and we are delighted we have members in their teens to their eighties! Some members only look after a barrel or bed near their home, others are more active. We welcome anyone no matter how much or little time you can spare. As our volunteers increase so do the number of flower beds we can create and care for.

We raise funds ourselves through sponsorship, grant applications and fund raising events.

Please support our events.

We are keen to involve the whole community and are delighted the Brownies originally planted the bed at The Lines on Ninelands Lane ( Now developed as a Butterflies and Bees Bed by Bloomers) . Local schools have designed posters for our entry into Yorkshire in Bloom.

Every Autumn we ask everyone to help us plant hundreds of bulbs around Garforth, watch out on our website or for posters advertising this event.

Meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of the month at Garforth Working Mens Club  at 7:30pm.
